Day 1: London – New York

Fly into New York today at the start of your New York and New York State holiday You’ll want to head straight out to explore this exciting city so what better way than taking a cruise around New York harbor for fantastic views of Brooklyn Bridge, the Manhattan skyline and to get up close to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. The narration on board is both entertaining and informative.  Stay 2 nights at the Wellington Hotel (or similar).

 

​Day 2: New York

A really good way to experience New York City like a local is to take one of the great walking tours which cover the best in architecture, history and colour this fascinating city has to offer and at an easy pace. Choose from a wide selection of areas and themes including Brooklyn Bridge, the Highline, Chelsea, New York Street Art or even a Cupcake tasting tour! In the evening be sure to take in a Broadway Show and experience the bright lights and lively atmosphere of Times Square.


Day 3: New York – Corning - Finger Lakes

M ake an early start to collect your hire car and drive north thro​ugh the scenic Catskill Mountains to Corning, gateway to the Finger Lakes region. Here you’ll find the Corning Museum of Glass, the largest museum of its kind in the world, which houses remarkable glass objects as well as demonstrating glass-blowing. In the afternoon continue on to Watkins Glen, a town set on Seneca Lake and famous its breweries, restaurants and charming waterfront. It’s a perfect base for visiting the Finger Lakes region. Day 4: Finger Lakes

Today you have a full day to explore the Finger Lakes region. Day 1: London – New York

After your arrival in New York, freshen up with a stroll through Central Park and maybe take in one of the great museums and galleries nearby such at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Stay 2 nights at the Wellington Hotel (or similar).


Day 2: New York

Make the most of your full day in New York City to discover as many of its great attractions and famous sights as you can. Take a yellow taxi ride to the Empire State Building for fantastic view over the city, take a cruise of New York harbour to see the Statue of Liberty, shop ‘til you drop at the famous department stores and designer boutiques along Fifth Avenue, and in the evening sample New York’s vibrant nightlife and restaurant scene around Broadway.


Day 3: New York – Long Island

Take the easy train ride to Long Island from New York’s Penn Station connecting to the Long Island Railroad which runs right out to Montauk on the island’s eastern tip. We recommend Port Jefferson as a picturesque place to stay on the island with its winding streets, delightful restaurants and boutique shops. On the way why not stop off at Westbury to visit lovely Old Westbury Gardens and its historic mansion. Alternatively, for a visit to famous Fire Island, ride the train to Bay Shore or Sayville and then take the ferry service across the water. Day 4: Long Island – London

Spend the morning exploring more of Long Island attractions. Day 1: London – New York

After your arrival in New York, head straight out to explore the city and take in some of its iconic landmarks. Why not start with the magnificent views of New York City from the top of the 102 floors of the Empire State Building. Stay 2 nights at the Wellington Hotel (or similar).


Day 2: New York

You have a full day to make the most of New York City and its many varied attractions. We recommend the ferry ride to get up close to the Statue of Liberty, learn about the history of the city at Ellis Island Immigration Museum, and marvel at the sights of New York Harbor. In the afternoon why not take in some designer shopping along Fifth Avenue or take a stroll through the green oasis of Central Park. Day 3: New York – Poughkeepsie - Rhinebeck

Collect your hire car and head north to Poughkeepsie to ride the glass elevator to the world’s longest pedestrian bridge with unrivalled views over the Hudson River Valley. Then enjoy a garden stroll at Innisfree, noted as one of the top ten gardens in the world or a winery tour & tasting at Millbrook Vineyards. Your holiday East Coast adventure starts as you fly into New York today. Make the most of your day and head out to explore the city, discovering all the sights that will find in the films. Take a stroll around Central Park or spend the evening in Times Square - the choice is yours. Stay 2 nights at the Wellington Hotel (or similar).


Day 2: New York

Take in the sights that only New York can deliver from the green oasis of Central Park, to the designer shopping along Fifth Avenue, and not forgetting the great dame that is the Statue of Liberty and the spectacular aerial views from the top of the Empire State Building or the Rockefeller Center. More than the attractions, New York’s buzzing nightlife and world-class dining has to be experienced, from the Broadway shows to the famous Michelin-starred restaurants.


Day 3: New York - Finger Lakes - Rochester

Make an early start to collect your hire car and drive north through the scenic Delaware Water Gap in the famous Appalachian Mountains into the Finger Lakes region where you can admire the beautiful lake scenery before arriving in Rochester on the shores of Lake Ontario. Rochester is a centre for the arts and home to many museums that explore photography, women’s suffrage and even toys. Stay 1 night at the Holiday Inn Rochester Downtown (or similar)


Day 4: Rochester – Lockport – Buffalo – Niagara Falls

Rochester is a great base to explore the famous Erie Canal along which you can walk, cycle or cruise. Here’s you can discover the city’s revitalized Riverworks waterfront, local breweries and world-class arts and architecture including Frank Lloyd Wright’s splendid Darwin Martin House. Day 5: Niagara Falls

Today you have a full day to experience the grandeur and excitement of majestic Niagara Falls. Don’t miss the breathtaking views from the Maid of the Mist cruise which takes you up close to the thunder and spray of the powerful waters. Within the Niagara Falls State Park itself, the oldest park in the USA, you can also visit an observation tower, ride the scenic Niagara Trolley and visit the various other vantage points over the Falls such as at Prospect Point or the Crow’s Nest. You can also learn about the history of Niagara Falls at the Cave of the Winds before descending into Niagara Gorge to stand within feet of the crashing Bridal Veil Falls.


Day 6: Finger Niagara Falls – Woodbury Common - London
